PURPOSE: To provide the wide-angle lens device which consists of a small number of lens elements and has a large photographic field angle and long back focus and is low in cost.

CONSTITUTION: This device is constituted by arranging a 1st lens 10 composed of a negative meniscus lens so that the center of the object-side surface projects to the object side, a 2nd positive lens 20, and a 3rd biconvex lens 30 in this order from the object side and a condition (1) -2.8<f1/f<-1.7, a condition (2) -0.45<f1/f2<-0.25, and a condition (3) 1.55<n1 are satisfied, where (f) is the total focal distance, f1 the focal distance of the 1st lens, f2 the focal distance of the 2nd lens, and n1 the refractive index of the 1st lens.
