To improve lowering of operability caused from resistance against the wind received with a fishing rod.
This wind resister has a wind receiving part 1 receiving the wind and a fitting part 2 for rotatably fitting the wind receiving part 1 at a side end part of a butt section of a fishing rod R. The wind receiving part 1 has a baggy net part 3, a frame part on which a periphery of the net part 3 is fitted and a supporting part supporting the frame part and fitted with a fitting part 2. When a wind in the A-direction acts on the fishing rod R having the wind resister, moment (a) in a counterclockwise direction arises at a tip section. Simultaneously, the butt section receives the wind in the same A- direction and the net part 3 of the wind resister rotates by receiving the wind, then the wind acts on the surface of the net part 3. Then, moment (b) arises in a clockwise direction at the butt section. Thus, the moment (a) at the tip section is canceled with the moment (b) at the wind receiving part 1 and the moment (a) at the tip section can be reduced.
