The winder 6 of the metal catalyst carrier, which is formed by multiply-winding a flat-plate shaped metal foil 7 and a corrugated metal foil 8 in a piled state, comprises a rotary part multiply-winding the metal foils in the piled state by pivoting around a shaft core to which ends of the metal foils 7, 8 are attached, a pressure part 14 forming the winding shaft by pressing axial opposite sides of the metal catalyst carrier B which increases the diameter along with the winding, wherein the pressure part 14 comprises a means for gradually increasing the diameter of a pressing portion along with the enlargement of the metal catalyst carrier B.
