Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that instability and flapping of a paper web occur on an endless flexible member, because a flexible belt is mounted so as to rotate along a predetermined movement path through which the paper web heads to a winder from a drying cylinder in a paper-making machine.SOLUTION: A winder further includes an air deflector 8 for deflecting or discharging air away from a wedge-shaped space formed between a flexible belt 6 and a paper web W. The air deflector can deflect an airflow drawn by the paper web and/or the flexible belt, away from the wedge-shaped space formed between the flexible belt and the paper web.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
