This winding composite false twist yarn has the following features: singly wound parts α in which a sheath yarn (b) is wound around a core yarn (a) in a single layer, triply wound parts β in which the sheath yarn (b) is wound in a triple layer and multiply wound parts γ in which the sheath yarn (b) is wound in a multiple layer of more than four layers to have a nep structure of a spindle shape are mixed; the ratio of the total length of the triple wound parts β and the multiple wound parts γ to the whole length is ≤20%; the peak frequency in a mass distribution histogram in the longitudinal direction of a yarn is only one in a smaller mass than the average weight; the maximum mass is ≥+100% of the average mass; the mass variation against the average mass has a peak of ≥100% in a mass variation wave-form; a peak having the ratio of a peak height H(%) to a peak width D (m) of ≥1,500 exists at least one or more per 1 m of yarn length; and the average value of in the whole peaks is ≥2,000.
