A winding device for an endless yarn is provided with a rotary disc 6 rotatably supporting at least two fastening mandrels at a peripheral edge. Like the shaft 12 of the rotary disc 6, the shaft 4 of a friction roller 2 is mounted in a home position on a frame, and the shafts 4 and 12 are coupled to a first drive device 120 or a second drive device 40. Each fastening mandrel is provided with an inherent third drive device 80 or a fourth drive device 100. A load between the friction roller and the respective one fastening mandrel is regulatable according to the winding state of a yarn package formed on the fastening mandrel.
