To facilitate work for removing a wound lengthy material and to prevent damage of the lengthy material at removal.

The winding device 1 is provided with a winding part 11 rotatably provided on a truck 10; a drive motor 12 for rotating/driving the winding part 11; and a drive mechanism for diameter-enlarging or diameter-contracting the winding part 11. The winding part 11 is provided with a winding shaft 20; and four winding frames 21 arranged at an outer side of the winding shaft 20 so as to be aligned in its peripheral direction. The drive mechanism diameter-contracting a distal end of the winding part 11 relative to a base end by by approaching the distal end to the winding shaft 20 by turning the four winding frames 21 relative to the winding shaft 20.
