PURPOSE: To realize improved net winding and reduce the variation of the magnetic characteristics of a core to which the winding is applied and improve the space factor by a method wherein at least one of a core holding means and a wire guiding means can be moved along the direction of the axis if the winding part of the core.
CONSTITUTION: A core holding means which holds a core 2, a wire guiding means 50 which has two planes which are provided along the axial direction of the winding part 4 of the core 2 with a space larger than the diameter of a wire 1 and regulates the position of the wire 1 along the direction of the axis of the winding part 4 and a tension applying means which gives the wire a tension by which the wire 1 inserted through a core hole 3 is pressed against one of the planes of the wire guiding means 50 are provided. One of the core holding means and the wire guiding means 50 can be moved along the direction of the axis of the winding part 4. For instance, if the wire 1 is wound on the winding part 4 as the 3rd turn, the lower end surface of the plate 50A of the wire guiding means 50 is held at the position which has the same height as the lower end surface of the position 2a of the wire 1 already wound beforehand and the tip 1A of the wire 1 is drawn out to the direction of the resultant force of the X-direction force and the Z-direction force.
