To stably take up yarn without causing interference between yarns, to improve production efficiency and to reduce a capital investment by setting a yarn winding angle of each godet roll smaller than fixed value and using a plurality of godet rolls of even number.
In drawing and heat-treating a synthetic fiber yarn by a plurality of godet rollers and winding the yarn on a winder, a yarn winding angle of each godet roller is set smaller than 360 degrees and two or more godet rollers of even number are used to take up the yarn. Preferable spindles 8 and 9 for winding the yarn are vertically arranged on a frame 10 constituting the skeleton of the winder. Preferably the total of guide winding solid angles of each yarn for connecting a swing support guide installed at the upper side of traverses of drums wound at both ends of the winder to a yarn dividing outlet guide arranged at the final roll outlet of the yarn is ≤50 degrees.
