Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a window assembly of gasket integral type, capable of efficiently receiving rainwater on a window plate and thus capable of preventing the rainwater from scattering and from sticking to a side window, and an efficient method of manufacturing this window assembly.
CONSTITUTION: In a method charging a cavity 24 of a forming die 20 with rubber or resin by interposing a peripheral part of a curved surface-shaped window plate 2 and integrally molding a gasket 3 secured to the peripheral part of the window plate 2, an end face 3g formed of a surface, positioned between a surface substantially at a right angle to a normal 11a in a central part of the window plate 2 and a substantially parallel surface, is formed in a side part of the window plate 2 in a gasket main unit 3a of a part along a side edge 2S. Also by protruding a water receiving part 3e and a protruding part 3f from the gasket main unit, an undercut is eliminated, and a water collecting part, retracted from an external surface of the window plate 2, is formed along the side edge 2S.
