Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiper that can make a trouble-free sliding contact with the outer surface of covers even when chips and the like strike against its outer surface, make a reliable contact even with somewhat curved sliding surfaces, and maintain a long-term uniform contact portion.
SOLUTION: A wiper 1 is attached to a tip of two or more relatively movable covers 2 to close the clearance between two adjacent covers 2 and prevent entry of chips and cutting fluid thereto. The wiper 1 comprises a wiper body 10 of elastic material and a rigid, thin plate 12 fixed to a lip portion 11 at the tip or the wiper body 10. The tip of the thin plate 12 projects from the lip portion 11.
