Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiping device of a printer which prolongs the life of a cleaning unit and thereby improves productivity and which enables also attainment of a stable quality.
SOLUTION: A predoctor 65 positioned on the upstream side in the direction of rotation of a wiping roller of a cleaning unit and scraping ink transferred onto the wiping roller 52 and being in a dry state is provided, being biased so that it be removable from the wiping roller and that a blade edge 76 be always put under a prescribed pressure, with a lever mechanism 68 interposed. The lever mechanism has a lower lever 68a to which an operating rod 67b pivoted by a liquid tank and connected to a hydraulic cylinder 67 through the intermediary of a turn buckle 71 is connected and an upper lever 68b which is pivoted by the lower lever and fitted with the predoctor, and a compression coil spring 81 for biasing the blade edge 76 is interposed between these two levers.
