PURPOSE: To display the maximum performance of a method for wire-cut electric discharge machining, by applying the automatic method of successively machining many numbers of profile forms in such a manner as performed in a type of successive feed with a wire-cut electric discharge machine.
CONSTITUTION: When assumed that a machining work is started from a machining start hole 14 in a work 2 and performed entering a profile form at a point P, the machining work, if it makes a complete round of the profile form and returns again to the point P, allows a cut chip 12 to fall down, accordingly the work is stopped machining at a position before the point P by a preset program with a length (about 0.05W0.5mm) left capable enough for holding the cut chip 12. Under this condition, a wire 1 is cut by a wire cutting device 13 and then removed from between a guide to be automatically transferred to a next machining start point 14' according to the program, and the machining for the next profile form is performed after a completion of connection to the wire 1 by an automatic wire connection device. In this method, the performance of a machining device can be displayed to a maximum limit.
