Abstract:

PURPOSE: To straighten bend of hard to work wire rod such as titanium and titanium alloy in good efficiency, good yield and good precision.

CONSTITUTION: A wire rod S sent from an uncoiler 1 is roughly straightened by a rough straightening machine 2 and is passed through an incoming side tension adding roll 4, incoming side energizing roll 5, outgoing side energizing roll 6 and outgoing-side tension adding roll 7. While tension is added to the wire rod S between the incoming side tension adding roll 4 and outgoing side tension adding roll 7, the wire rod S is energized/heated between the incoming side energizing roll 5 and outgoing side energizing roll 6 while tension is uniformly added in the longitudinal direction. The wire rod S given with a prescribed elongation is cooled between the outgoing side energizing roll 6 and outgoing side energizing roll 7 while tension is added, straightening is executed with contraction and tension due to cooling. The wire rod S straightened is cut to product length by a cutting device 9.
