Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator having secured safety and reliability by suppressing the decrease of the life and the strength of a rope when the diameter of a sheave is reduced.
SOLUTION: The rope in a structure, in which each of plural wires constituting the wire rope is covered with a resin material and the whole wire rope is covered with the resin material is used to reduce the abrasion caused by the mutual slip of each wire when being wrapped around the sheave, and the abrasion caused by the contact with the sheave. As a result, the reduction of the rope life worried when the diameter of the sheave of the elevator is decreased, is suppressed or improved. Thereby, the miniaturization and lightening of equipment such as a motor and a winding machine, the saving of the space for installing the elevator, and the improvement of the safety and reliability of the system caused by the increase of the rope life are intended.
