Abstract:

To provide a wire saw cutting apparatus and a cutting method therefor for realizing an efficient operation by automatically returning a wire after the completion of cutting to the position in the start of the cutting.SOLUTION: A wire saw cutting apparatus 10 comprises: a pair of arm members 50a, 50b; tip pulleys 57; and arm feed mechanism parts 45. The tip pulleys 57 are provided at the tip parts of the arm members 50a, 50b and wind a wire W1 upon cutting. The arm feed mechanisms 45 directly move the arm members 50a, 50b in a direction in which the arm members 50a, 50b extend. Upon the cutting, a block 70 is cut by the wire W1 in the tip pulleys 57 while inserting the respective arm members 50a, 50b into two holes h11, h12. After the cutting, the arm members 50a, 50b and the wire W1 are returned to the positions before the start of the cutting by retreating the arm members 50a, 50b and winding up the wire W1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
