PURPOSE: To obtain perfect twist relieving by providing an untwisting tool together with a guide to an element wire running along arch members, and giving torque to the element wire by the untwisting tool so as to offset the rotation resistance of the element wire at the guide.
CONSTITUTION: A twisting machine has rotatable arches 6 and 7 to lead an element wire 14 from a bobbin 11 supported capable of untwisting to a twisting member, and also has an untwisting tool 8 being a guide concurrently of the element wire running along the arches 6 and 7. The guiding direction by the guide and the running direction of the element wire 14 make an inclination at a specific angle. The first shaft journalled rotatable with a drum form roller to guide the element wire, and the second shaft provided inside the first shaft and having the axis crossing the first shaft, are provided, and both shafts are fixed at the desired relative rotating positions. The element wire 14 is installed to a desired running position by the second shaft. The running direction of the element wire 14 and the guiding direction by the roller have an inclination at a specific angle, and untwisting force is generated by the friction between the roller and the element wire. With this constitution, a high quality stranded wire having no meandering can be obtained.
