To provide a wireless automatic meter reading system for obtaining the setting information and communication information of a reporting device without the need of providing a display part in the reporting device or connecting an external display device separately even when the reporting device for performing wireless meter reading is installed.

A meter 1 is provided with a metering part 12, a display part 11 for displaying a metered value acquired in the metering part 12 and a metered value transmission part for transmitting the metered value to the reporting device 2. The reporting device 2 is provided with a metered value reception part for receiving the metered value from the meter 1, a wireless reporting part (wireless communication part 22 and control part 20) for reporting information relating to the received metered value to a center 5 using wireless communication with a public base station, an operation part 21, and a display information transmission part for transmitting information for display to the meter 1 on the basis of the operation there. The meter 1 has a display information reception part for receiving the transmission information from the display information transmission part and displaying it on the display part 11. Also, in this embodiment, the meter 1 and the reporting device 2 communicate by a communication part 13 and a communication part 23.
