To reduce the power consumption of a mobile communication terminal having a wireless LAN connection function.

The mobile communication terminal 100 is provided with: a wide area wireless communication unit 120, which is connected to a wide area wireless communication network to make a communication; and a local wireless communication unit 130, which is connected to a local wireless communication network to make the communication. The mobile communication terminal 100 acquires location information showing its own location by operations of the wide area wireless communication unit 120 and a GPS unit 180 and stores the location information in a location information storage area 191. The mobile communication terminal 100 acquires connection information showing an access point associated with the location information and stores the connection information in a connection information storage area 192. A control unit 110 controls an operation period of an access point detection operation when the local wireless communication unit 130 can communicate on the basis of the connection information with the acquired location information associated.
