PURPOSE: To obtain the composition capable of maintaining pharmaceutical activities for a long period of time, being not dangerous during applications and having no effect on human bodies and environments by coating granules or fine granules containing an liquid or fine powder solid agrochemical ingredient with an ethylene based copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: A slowly releasing granular agrochemical composition made by coating granules or fine granules containing a liquid or fine powdery solid agrochemical ingredient with a polymer. The polymer is a copolymer repeating units of which are (1) 80-99wt.% ethylene based monomer of the formula [R1 is H or methyl; Y is H or a 1-8C alkyl, COOR (R2 is an alkyl), OCOR (R IS H or an alkyl), aryl or CN], (2) 0.1-20wt.% ethylene based monomer having a carboxylic group in a molecule and (3) 0-30wt.% comonomer capable of copolymerizing with (1) and (2) and being different from (1) and (2) and/or a multivalent metal salt of the same copolymer. A salt of calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper or aluminum is preferable as the multivalent metal salt.
