This woody tape is manufactured by a method wherein the continuous veneer 3, which has a continuous backing sheet 4 bonded to the rear thereof, is allowed to run in a tensioned state, the surface thereof is coated with a urethane type reactive hot melt resin to form a coating layer 15 and a release sheet 16 is supplied to the surface of the coating layer 15 before the whole is pressed by roll presses 22 and 22. Since the coating layer 15 formed on the surface of the continuous backing sheet 4 becomes the thin and tough film having high flexibility, the flexibility and toughness of the woody tape 14 is sharply enhanced by the coating layer 15 to make it hard to cause a rupture or crack.
