Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a naturally grained appearance and and surface characteristics such as the fine feeling and touch of a natural wood by forming a blocklike molded product of a composite material including a woody fiber and a resin by compression molding and cutting this blocklike molded product in a compression direction and further making the cut face a surface.
SOLUTION: A blocklike molded product 1 is molded by compression using a mixture of woody fiber and resin. The woody fiber which is present randomly in the mixture of woody fiber and resin is orientated in a direction orthogonal with the compression direction by the compression molding. The blocklike molded product is cut in the compression direction to obtain a woody touch molded product 2 with the cut face 3 set as a surface. The woody fiber to be used is the split natural material such as wood, hemp, palm or bamboo. The splitting method is to steam the wood under pressure and mechanically unravel the fiber under the pressure applied at the time of steaming or under normal pressure or use some other means. The resin to be used is preferably a thermoplastic resin from the viewpoint of moldability, workability or the like. The resin content is preferably 20-50 wt.% of the total amount of the mixture of woody fiber and resin.
