PURPOSE: To form a document quickly, by reading out a word, which coincides with an inputted character except a specific symbol from a dictionary memory part, when the specific symbol other than the character is included in an inputted word.
CONSTITUTION: For example, if the operator is dubious of spelling of "O" of word "LESSON", he uses symbol "%" as the specific symbol to input "LESS%N". A CPU3 retrieves words beginning with "L" from the first dictionary memory part 6 and extracts words coinciding with inputted characters except symbol "%" and displays them on a display device 5. The operator selects a desired word out of them. If the operator is dubious of spelling of the first and the second characters of "LESSON", he inputs "%%SSON". The CPU3 reverses the inputted word to store "NOSS%%" and retrieves words beginning with "N" from the second dictionary memory part 7 to extract word "NOSSEL". The CPU3 reverses this word to display the result on the device 5.
