Abstract:
Provided are a workpiece retaining part which can be appropriate for a plurality of types of workpieces, and a workpiece retaining part rotation unit. The present invention provides a workpiece retaining part 60 for retaining a rod-shaped workpiece W provided with a shank section W1 and a blade section W2 having a smaller outside diameter than the shank section W1, wherein the workpiece retaining part 60 is provided with: an adapter 63 in which is formed a through hole 63a provided with a first hole section 63c in which the shank section W1 can be inserted, and a second hole section 63d which is formed so as to be continuous with the first hole section 63c and in which the shank section W1 is not insertable and the blade section W2 is insertable; and a rotation support part 61 capable of retaining the adapter 63 in a state in which the adapter 63 is inserted.
