An inspection rail vertical support mechanism 20 for supporting an inspection rail 11 freely movably up and down and a test object work 5T conveyed successively on the inspection rail 11 are imaged by a CCD camera 37, and visual inspection of the work 5 is executed based on an image signal to judge whether the work 5T is a good product or an inferior product. In the case of being judged as an inferior product, good works 5 other than the inferior product existing on the inspection rail 11 are chucked, and the inspection rail 11 is lowered to a prescribed work dischargeable position, and the inferior product on the rail 11 is discharged.
