To reduce a manufacturing cost in a method for manufacturing a workpiece, which has a process of induction-hardening the workpiece having a step part or a groove part.
The method for manufacturing the workpiece 10 includes cooling an end part 11a of a higher part 11 that forms the step which is a boundary of the higher part 11 and a lower part 12 with a cooling device 22 while heating the step with a high-frequency coil 21, when quenching the step by relatively moving the high-frequency coil 21 and the cooling device 22 in this order along the surface of the workpiece, in the process of induction-hardening the workpiece 10; and inputting an electric power into the high-frequency coil 21 in a pulse form.
