Title:
ORIGINAL POSITION METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR AUTONOMOUS FAILURE DETECTION, ISOLATION, REPAIR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3206738
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To repair a failure state by providing a failure detecting/isolating module monitoring the operating characteristic of a spacecraft and autonomously detecting and isolating the failure state based on the characteristic, receiving an output from the module, and autonomously implementing the repairing process with a failure repairing module.
SOLUTION: The operation system 105 of a spacecraft 101 is monitored by a failure detecting/isolating module 109, and the accurate source of a failure is immediately isolated or identified when the failure is detected. When the failure is detected and the failure source is correctly isolated, the information is sent to a failure repairing module 113. The failure is evaluated, and a proper failure repairing script is recognized and sent to the operation system 105. The operation system 105 repairs the isolated failure according to the repairing script or tries a countermeasure. After the failure is detected and isolated, the monitoring of the operation system 105 is continued, and the success or failure of the repairing script is confirmed. The spacecraft 101 can autonomously identify, isolate, and repair the failure.
