Abstract:

PURPOSE: To work various kinds of toroidal surfaces by providing a cutting tool mounted on a rotating spindle and a rotating table for supporting a base material the axial line of which is orthogonal to the axial line of the rotating spindle.
CONSTITUTION: When a cutting tool 30 is mounted on a rotating spindle 24 in a generated line curvature radius position and rotated to make contact with a base material 36, a fine generated line curvature surface is formed on the surface of the base material 36. When a rotating table 38 the axial line L2 of which is orthogonal to the axial line L1 of the rotating spindle 24 is rotated in this state, the rotating form of the generated line curvature surface having the axial line L2 of the rotating table 38 as the center or a toroidal surface 42 is formed on the surface of the base material 36. The distance between an optional point of the toroidal surface 42 and the axial line L2 of the rotating table 38 forms a base line curvature radius.
