PURPOSE: To produce continuously and stably a grooving pin with good working efficiency by disposing in series a straightening member, feed mechanism, dinking and grooving mechanism, punching mechanism and cutting mechanism for a wire rod to a working machine for the grooving pin.
CONSTITUTION: A wire rod W as a blank material is passed through a straightening device 2 and is then inserted into a stationary chuck 3 and is fastened by handles 209, 217. A motor 601 is moved inch by inch to increase the space between the two dies of a movable chuck 4 and in succession the chuck 4 and a dinking and grooving member 5 are retreated. The wire rod W is passed through the dies of the chuck 4 and is thus gripped. The motor 601, etc. are driven to feed inch by inch the wire rod W and at the same time grooves are punched on the outside circumference by the member 5 and thereafter the wire rod is moved to a punching head member 7 to form three grooves by punching in the axial direction of the wire rod, thereby forming build-up parts at both edges. The worked pin is bent and cut in a cutting part 8 in succession to the above, by which the grooving pin is manufactured.
