Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elongate lifetime of a cutting tool, while maintaining surface roughness of a finished surface with high precision.
SOLUTION: This is the die working method to cut and work a molded surface of the die 1 forming a Fresnel lens. It comprises a rough machining process for roughly machining both Fresnel and rise surfaces of a Fresnel groove forming the molded surface by using a diamond cutting tool 2 for rough machining, and a finish machining process for intermediately and finally finish-machining both Fresnel and rise surfaces by using a diamond cutting tool 3 for finish machining.
