PURPOSE: To prevent work from giving uneven extensional deformation like a deep draw forming by giving many small extensional deformations on the entire recessed part of a thin plate by means of a punch to form the recessed part and specifying the extent of one time work to form dents on the thin plate with the punch.
CONSTITUTION: The work is repeated in which, with the punch 14 that has a small cross-sectional area compared with the bottom area of the recessed part 2, the thin plate 1 is pushed in to the receiving body 16 of the punch having a smaller dimension of depth compared with the recessed part and to form a dent 3 on the thin plate 1; and the work, in which a part of the thin plate is overhung in the same plane shape as the recessed part, is performed in plural parts. The method is comprised of a first process, in which the recessed part is formed on the thin plate while successively increasing the depth of an overhang for each work, and a second process, in which a finishing die having the same dimension and shape as the recessed part and 2 die receiving body to receive such finishing die are provided, the thin plate is placed on the die receiving body, and the finishing die is pushed in to finish the recessed part. Thus, the thin plate is formed by overhanging the recessed part without accompanying the generation of cracks, and the work to form the recessed part is made with a high yield.
