PURPOSE: To make it possible to accomplish the machining of an inserted workpiece until it is carried out generating a circular locus by providing a cylinder for the individual holding or releasing of members to hold the workpiece on a rotational disk.
CONSTITUTION: A cramping cylinder 10 functions to hold a steel bar W inserted in a notch 9. the end plane W2 of the bar W is ground by the rotation of a rotational disk 8 and a machining device 21 being in operation while the bar W is being carried generating a circular locus. When the ground bar W rises to the upper part of the rotational disk 8, the cramping cylinder 10 functions to release the holding of the bar W, and then a pusher cylinder 11 moves the bar W to make it strike against a stopper 20 for its positioning. when the bar W has been held in the above notch 9 by the cramping cylinder 10, the disk 8 is clockwise rotated to perform the plunge grinding of an other end plane W1 by an other machining device 21, and the bar W rolls on rails 22 to leave a carrier.
