Abstract:
To provide a worm reducer which can effectively prevent axial displacement of a rolling bearing which is fitted in a resin gear housing, and to provide a manufacturing method of the worm reducer.SOLUTION: A worm reducer includes: a gear housing 9 having an outer ring fitting surface 43, which has a cylindrical surface shape, on an inner peripheral surface and made of a thermoplastic resin; a rolling bearing (a first bearing 18) having an outer ring 41 which is fitted in the outer ring fitting surface 43; and an annular removal prevention member (a first removal prevention member 22) which is disposed adjacent to one axial side of the outer ring 41 and prevents the outer ring 41 from being displaced to the one axial side. The removal prevention member is made of a same thermoplastic resin as the gear housing 9 and is welded to the gear housing 9 in a state that its side surface, which faces the other axial side, is butted with a side surface at the one axial side of the outer ring 41. A border part between the gear housing 9 and the removal prevention member has a gutter 52 which retains burrs generated when the removal prevention member is welded to the gear housing 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
