Abstract:

To make it possible to prevent the putrefaction of offerings in the object for worship and to enable a person to eat the offerings withdrawn from worship outfits without anxiety by imparting an antimicrobial function to the worship outfits to be used as furnishings for religions, such as Buddhism and Christianity.

A household Buddhist alter has a table to be placed with the offerings, such as fruit and vegetables and confectionery and a table to be placed with the offerings on a household Shinto alter to worship God is used even for Shinto. The antimicrobial function is imparted to the worship outfits which are such tables. The impartation of the antimicrobial function is executed by applying a coating material contg. an antimicrobial agent or fungusproof agent on a blank or spray coating the blank with a solvent contg. the antimicrobial agent or molding the blank of plastic contg. the antimicrobial agent. The antimicrobial and fungusproof agents include a chlorine system, bromine system, sulfone system, thiocarbamate system, thiocyanate system as a sulfur compd., thiazole system, etc., and the inorg. antimicrobial agent contg. silver is more particularly effective. At this time, zeolite, silica, etc., are used as a carrier to stabilize the agents in the state of silver ions over a long period of time.
