Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a wrinkle-improving agent and anti-aging cosmetic containing palythene which is a substance derived from marine product and/or its salt as the active components, having excellent moisture retention and exhibiting excellent wrinkle-improving action and anti-aging action.
CONSTITUTION: This wrinkle-improving agent is composed of palythene and/or its salt. Palythene is a substance extracted, purified and separated from mollusks belonging to the genus Laurencia, Bostrychia, Rhodymenia, etc., such as Polythoa tuberculs. This antiaging cosmetic contains 0.1-10wt.% of the wrinkle- improving agent based on the total cosmetic. Palythene is easily obtained e.g. by adding methanol to Polythoa tuberculs, homogenizing it, subjecting to centrifugal separation to collect the supernatant and purifying the obtained extract by preparative chromatography, etc. Palythene is extremely useful as a material, for cosmetic because of its high water-solubility, high safety and wrinkle- improving action.
