Abstract:

An apparatus and a method for coiling a thin strip to be rolled are provided to coil the thin strip to be rolled in a simple and inexpensive manner in a state that a pressing pressure to the thin strip to be rolled is not varied according to the diameter of a coiled coil, or product defects such as damages, coiling creases, and ruptures are not generated on the thin strip to be rolled. An apparatus for coiling a thin strip(3) to be rolled comprises: a coiling shaft(1) for coiling a thin strip to be rolled into a coil shape; an iron roller(4) which comes into contact with an outer surface of the thin strip to be rolled that has been coiled into the coil shape; an iron roller supporting member(5) for supporting the iron roller in a way that the iron roller advances or retreats; an iron roller pressing pressure imparting unit(8) for imparting a pressing pressure of the iron roller to the thin strip to be rolled of the coil shape through the iron roller supporting member; and a controller for controlling the pressing pressure to the thin strip to be rolled to a predetermined pressure. The controller includes an iron roller dead load compensation unit for compensating an influence due to dead load of the iron roller according to a change in the coil diameter of the thin strip to be rolled during coiling. The iron roller supporting member includes a contact pressure relieving unit(10) for relieving pressure of a contact between the iron roller and the thin strip to be rolled that is being coiled.
