PURPOSE: To suppress the production of streak by adapting the intensity profile of radiation beams, the relative displacement speed between the beams and a recording medium, and the rotational speed per unit time of a rotary anode X-ray tube so as to compensate intensity fluctuation one another.
CONSTITUTION: The focus spot of X rays is located on the inclined annular surface of an anode disk 3, a rotor 9 connected to the disk 3 is driven by a stator 9, and radiation beams 8a and 8b are applied to a patient 6 so that they reach a recording medium 7. Also, the disk 3 is maintained at a specific predetermined rotational speed and the beams 8a and 8b are displaced via a control circuit 12. Then, time for passing the edge part of the intensity profile is made equivalent to the inverse number of speed per unit time of the disk 3 or its integer multiples, thus compensating the intensity fluctuation produced due to the periodical deviation of a focus spot being exposed and hence suppressing streak-shaped artifact.
