Title:
X-RAY IMAGE INTENSIFIER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0487242
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To restrain X-ray absorption or scattering caused by a holding body on an input surface, and enhance luminance, resolution and contrast by forming, on a transparent substrate, a fluorescent layer, a reflection film, a transparent conductor film and a photoelectric surface.

CONSTITUTION: An X-ray incident on an input surface 2 is radiated in a fluorescent layer 22 formed on an X-ray incident side of a transparent substrate 21 through a reflection film 23 covering the fluorescent layer 22, to be converted into light. The light is introduced to a photoelectric surface 25 through the substrate 21 and a transparent conductor film 24 formed on a side opposite to the substrate 21, to be converted into an electron. The transparent substrate 21 serves as a holding body for the fluorescent layer 22 and the like. The reflection film 23 is adapted to reflect the light generated in the fluorescent layer 22 and prevent the light from being radiated to the exterior. If the reflection film 23 is made of aluminum film, It can be formed thin without any necessity of forming it thick in consideration of strength. Accordingly, only the thin reflection film 23 exists on the X-ray generating source side of the fluorescent layer 22. Therefore, it is possible to restrain X-ray absorption or scattering caused by the holding body on the input surface, and enhance luminance, resolution and contrast.
