Abstract:

PURPOSE: To automate the cropping processing by preparing a concentration profile on a plurality of arbitrary parallel lines of an X-ray image, extracting the boundary between a photograph-taken part and an X-ray direct input part and generating the signal which shows the outside part from the boundary on the most outside in black.
CONSTITUTION: When an X-ray image is read out from a recording medium 11 and sent into a concentration profile-preparing circuit 12, the image data on an arbitrary horizontal scan line is taken out, and the concentration profile is prepared. Then, the boundary between a photograph-taken part and an X-ray direct input part is extracted by a boundary extracting circuit 13 from the concentration profile. Then, the boundary position of the rightest side and the boundary position at the most left side are detected by the max. value detecting circuit 14 and the min. value detecting circuit 15. A cropping generating circuit 16 generates the signal which shows the whole part ranging from the left side boundary position to the left edge and the part ranging from the right side boundary position to the right edge part in black, on the basis of these boundary position data.
