Abstract:
To provide an X-ray source bearing housing assembly for improving heat dissipation.
The X-ray source (10) comprises a target anode (22), a rotor shaft (24) combined to the target anode, a motor combined to the opposite end of the rotor shaft to the target anode, and a bearing housing (28) including a hollow for the rotor. The rotor shaft extends through the hollow, and is supported by a plurality of bearings in the hollow. The housing and the shaft form a cooling refrigerant pool, and the cooling refrigerant in the pool is radially displaced when the shaft is rotated.
