A multilayer film metal target 5 comprises films of the first metal layer 5a, the second metal layer 5b, and the third metal layer 5c, all composed of different metals. When an electron beam 13 enters into the multilayer film metal target 5, it reaches down to the third metal layer 5c to generate X-rays, Xa, Xb and Xc with qualities corresponding to the metallic characteristics of the first metal layer 5a, second metal layer 5b and third metal layer 5c, respectively.
