PURPOSE: To permit the strong connection of yarn free from joint part even in case of double yarn by separating fibers at the yarn top edge by absorbing two yarn edges to be connected and tentatively connecting the yarns by an air jet stream and applying paste onto the tentative yarn connection part.

CONSTITUTION: The both yarn edges YA and YB are inserted into a pair of rollers 15 and 16 and set into a pnumatic tentative yarn connecting device 12, and tentative yarn connection is performed. Then, the yarn Y is set into a pasting device 13, and the tentative yarn connection part is applied with paste. Since the highest level L1 of a roller 41 is positioned under a yarn traveling level L2, the tentative yarn connection part is pressed onto the roller 41 and applied with paste, preventing the part other than the tentative yarn connection part from being applied with paste. Then, the yarn is traveled in the direction 47 of arrow, and the paste agent 44 is dried by a drier 14. Therefore, after the connection of yarn, a double twisting machine is operated, and the paste is dissolved and flushed out by the rinse by water in the finishing process.
