PURPOSE: To surely separate yarns at the time of ending by providing constitution of feelers, which are provided in right and left before a rewinding package, and a screw roller which is provided before the feelers and formed with threads in directions different in each side with the central part bordered.

CONSTITUTION: In a process in which a yarn end in a side of a package P, while it is rewound back by sensing a yarn cut and detecting a yarn defect by a slub catcher, is sucked by a suction mouth 7 and introduced to an ending device, each yarn is guided parts 5, 6 of a yarn traversing member 4. Thereafter, the member 4 slowly traverses. When the two yarns are separated by this action, the respective yarn is separated to right and left to ride on a thread of a screw roller 3. The separated yarn is brought into contact with feelers 1, 2 to generate an electric signal. When the electric signals are simultaneously generated, a rewinding package driving motor Mp and a motor Ms for driving the screw roller 3 are stopped.
