Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain laser glass providing laser light having high luminous strength, long fluorescence life and large cross section of stimulated emission and about 1.03μm wavelength.

CONSTITUTION: Aluminate laser glass having a composition comprising 30-35 mol% Al2O3, 45-50mol% CaO, 5-18mol% BaO, 0-14mol% MgO, 0-8mol% SrO, 0-15mol% MgO+SrO, 0-20mol% GeO2, 0-20mol% SiO2, 0.05-0.5mol% Nd2O3 and 0.5-3mol% Yb2O3. This laser glass has high luminous strength (e.g. 74-106 (a.u.)), long fluorescence life (e.g. 890-1,274 (μsec) and large cross section of stimulated emission (e.g. 0.99-1.15×10-20cm2).
