PURPOSE: To suppress the component of the horizontal deflection current which are applied in a focussing coil by dividing it into a number of focussing coils and connecting damping resistor in parallel to the whole or a part of the divided coils.

CONSTITUTION: A number of dashboard 12 are spaced on the external surface of a coil bottin 11 at a certain interval, and four coils L1WL4 are wound in a solenoid from between each dashboard 12. The four coils L1WL4 are connected in series and damping resistors R1WR4 are connected in parallel to each of coils L1WL4. As a result, distribution capacity C1WC4 of the focussing coil internal are divided and reduced and self-resonant frequency is increased. Q of a resonance circuit is reduced by the damping resistors and the oscillating current generated every one cycle of horizontal deflection can be suppressed.
