Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a high performance zeolite based antibacterial agent and the production thereof exhibiting excellent discoloration resistance against light or heat while keeping high level antibacterial activity and to provide an antibacterial polymer composition containing the zeolite based antibacterial agent.

CONSTITUTION: The zeolite based antibacterial agent is made by applying and interposing one or more kind of a metallic hydroxide and/or metal oxide of Ti, Zr, Ce or Zn on the surface of the antibacterial zeolite particle carrying at least silver ion as an antibacterial ion by ion exchanging. The producing method is executed by mixing a soluble salt of the metal and an alkaline agent with the antibacterial zeolite carrying at least silver ion and neutralization reacting within pH4-9. And the antibacterial polymer composition is made by blending 0.1-50 pts.wt. zeolite based antibacterial agent with 100 pts.wt. polymer.
