The purpose of the present invention is to provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition which can be used favorably in laminating a polarization plate and various types of optical members (in particular, a thin transparent substrate), which effectively prevents light leakage by making it possible to effectively suppress warping of the aforementioned optical member in a hot environment, and which also has excellent processing characteristics such as not being prone to adhere to tools. This pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for polarization plates contains (A) a (meth)acrylic resin containing structural units derived from the monomers (a1) to (a4) below in the ratios mentioned below: (a1) 5-50 wt% of (meth)acrylic monomers having a homopolymer Tg of 0°C or greater; (a2) 43-93.9wt% of (meth)acrylic monomers having a homopolymer Tg of -60°C or greater and less than 0°C; (a3) 1.1-7 wt% of (meth)acrylic monomers having a carboxyl group; and (a4) 0-10 wt% of other monomers; (B) 0.15-1.5 parts by weight of a cross-linking agent per 100 parts by weight of the aforementioned (meth)acrylic resin, and (C) a silane coupling agent.
