Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a novel cyclic macromonomer which may polymerize with another polymerizable monomer to form a crosslinked polymer excellent in mechanical and swelling properties; a crosslinked polymer having a structural unit originating from the cyclic macromonomer; and a polymer gel containing the crosslinked polymer.SOLUTION: A cyclic macromonomer is represented by the general formula (I) in the figure. (In the general formula (I), M is a substituted or unsubstituted C2-4 alkylene group; n represents the number of repeating units of the structure in the parenthesis and is an integer between 5 and 100; and n+1 occurrences of M may be identical to or different from each other.)
