Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate applications which are not popular yet but can be widely spread.SOLUTION: An application discrimination device receives use history information from users, discriminates users who satisfy a predetermined criterion on a specific category of applications by using the use history information, and discriminates applications whose rate of use by the users satisfying the predetermined criterion is more than a predetermined value among the applications in a specified time period after the release. The predetermined criterion is to satisfy one of the following conditions; that he/she downloaded the application in the specified time period after the release, that the application was not distributed over a predetermined number of times from the distribution server at the time of his/her downloading, that he/she retrieved the applications belonging to the specific category over a predetermined number of times and that the applications belonging to the specific category downloaded by him/her is more than a predetermined number, besides to satisfy the condition that he/she used the application over a predetermined number of times.
