Abstract:
Problem Provided are a battery and a manufacturing method thereof that suppress fluctuations in the internal resistance to improve reliability in a battery provided with a joining member that connects together a pair of conductive members by a crimping member and a welding member using a high energy beam. Solution Means An external battery can (11), an power generation element, a sealing port plate (12), a connection terminal (13) attached in an insulated state to the sealing port plate (12), a current collector electrically connected to the power generation element and the connection terminal (13), and an external terminal (18) electrically connected to the connection terminal (13) are provided. In the battery in which one member is crimped to another member and welded together by high-energy rays in at least one of the interval between the current collector and the connection terminal (13) and the interval between the connection terminal (13) and the external terminal (18), the regions (21-24) welded by high-energy beams are formed by welding spots (21a-24c) where two or more points overlap in the direction that intersects in the boundary region of one member and the other member.
